3D Printed Goods Made in Upstate New York
How It’s Made
The 3D printing is a process that involves melting a thermoplastic filament, such as PLA or ABS, both new and recycled material, which is extruded through a nozzle to build up an object layer by layer. Following a digital design, the printer creates detailed shapes fusing each layer as it cools. This method allows for unique, customized designs with minimal waste.
About Honey Studio
Our products are manufactured using 3D printing, an energy-efficient process that enables on-demand production while significantly reducing waste compared to traditional manufacturing methods. We use Polylactic Acid (PLA), a biodegradable polymer derived primarily from renewable resources such as corn, sugarcane, and beets. These raw materials are fermented to produce lactic acid, which is then polymerized to form PLA.
By utilizing 3D printing as our primary method of production, we are able to manufacture items efficiently and only as needed from our studio in Upstate New York. This approach eliminates the need for excess inventory and helps minimize both material waste and energy consumption typically associated with mass production.
